ooc info

hi :3 i go by shal online, or you can also use my characters' names in reference to me- i'm especially used to being called loren as he's my main! behind the screen, i'm a 26 year old guy from the UK. i'm pretty new to ffxiv's rp scene and haven't rp'd with strangers in a whileee but i've been making ocs and writing stories for as long as i can remember. i'm pretty shy but actively working on fixing that, and once you get to know me it's hard to get me to shut up.

as a small heads up, i do have autism and various chronic health problems, so i can be a little awkward/standoffish and slow to respond. however, my health issues also mean i currently don't work and am often up at weird hours so my availability is pretty high, as an upside. my memory's also not the greatest, so feel free to poke me if you think i may have forgotten something or to respond. i appreciate clear, direct communication and being told directly if something i do upsets you or bothers you in any way.

i also am a strong believer in the separation between reality and fiction, and that people should be able to explore whatever fucked up or "problematic" themes they like through fiction without that being a reflection of their real life morals or tastes. i don't really write a whole lot of dark content myself but i do not care what other people write or read when it comes to fiction, so long as no real people are being harmed, and i have 0 interest in being friends or creative partners with people who feel differently. in terms of ffxiv specifically, i treat lalafells as adults and write them in adult relationships with adult feelings with non lalafell characters. if you don't like this we will not get along.

outside of roleplay, i spend 90% of my time playing ffxiv, though i have other hobbies too. other video games- animal crossing, stardew and similar games, monster hunter, pokemon and other ff games, mainly- and art are my main ones, though i also listen to a lot of podcasts, (taz + other mcelroy podcasts, the magnus archives, malevolent) and write sometimes too :) i'm always down for ooc ffxiv based friendships- i'm down to run pretty much any content with you, help with queues, or just yap about our ocs!
